Moulding in glasses
(EcoSoya 610, 620 and 630)
Optimum moulding temperature: 58 - 60C

We recommend that you use preheated glasses. Preheat the glasses (in an oven) to 60 C, turn off the oven, fill the glasses, place them back in the oven and let them cool down in the closed oven. The remaining heat in the oven ensures a slow cooling process. This is ideal for creating a good bond with the glass sides and a smooth surface.

Wick sizes:
WPT-00060 for bowed votive glass (POT-00101)

WPT-00100 for upright votive glass (POT-00100) and large votive glass (POT-00110)

Massage candles
(EcoSoya 620)
If you wish, you can add soothing oil or shea butter. Remember that if you add too much oil, the candle will not harden properly. 1/3 of oil or shea butter is enough. A ratio of 1/3 EcoSoya, 1/3 shea butter and 1/3 oil also works well.

We recommend that you add a maximum of 0,2 % Gildewerk perfume oil. Massage candles are never coloured.

Please note! Cosmetics legislation applies to massage candles.

Moulding freestanding candles
(EcoSoya 600)
Moulding temperature: app. 70C

Fill the cast. As the soya wax starts to set, prick 2 holes next to the wick while the wax is still warm. Once the soya wax has cooled, fill these holes. Do not fill them to a level higher than the original candle!

Allow the candles to cool at room temperature and make sure that the cooling takes place quickly. So do not place the casts too close to one another. A quick cooling process ensures that the soya wax shrinks away from the cast.

Wick sizes: soya wax requires a relatively thick wick, 1-2 sizes thicker than what you would use with regular paraffin.

Ø <40 mm > flat wick 3x10
Ø 40-60 mm > flat wick 3x12
Ø 60-70 mm > flat wick 3x14

(always first test the wick size yourself)

Simple round versions burn best.

Fragrance & colour
You can colour EcoSoya with Gildewerk colour tablets (pigment colour). Use a maximum of 1 tablet/ kg. Pigment colours stay colourfast, even when perfume is used.

Because soya is processed at a low temperature, the pigment will not dissolve. You must therefore (briefly) heat the soya wax to 80 C and let it cool to the desired moulding temperature while constantly stirring it. Or you could heat some of the wax to 80 C, dissolve the colourant into it and then add this mixture to the colder soya wax.

EcoSoya is ideally suited to the addition of perfume oil. When using Gildewerk perfume paraffin, the maximum amount to be added is 10%, while the maximum amount of perfume oil to be added is 5 %.
